Gordon Sumner, better known as Sting, is an English singer, songwriter. He is best known as the lead singer, and bassist for the band the Police from 1977 to 1984, before launching a solo career in 1985. With the Police and his solo material combined, he has sold over 100 million records worldwide. During his career, Sting has received 17 Grammy Awards.
